In 2002, Jim became and advisor to Heidbreder Building Group, LLC after successful careers in management consulting, academia, and industry. As a management consultant, he has helped firms such as 3M, Hewlett-Packard, Whirlpool, CIGNA, and Motorola improve their business processes. For five years, Jim taught at the Graduate School of Management and before that he served as Vice-President to Hospital Product Group, G.D. Searle.
Jim has served on several boards of directors, been a featured speaker for conferences sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants, American Marketing Association, American Electronics Association, Software Users Group, American Productivity and Quality Center, Strategic Planning Institute, and the Healthcare Forum. Jim also co-taught at the Columbia University International Managers Program and Wharton School University of Pennsylvania Business Writers Program. Hewlett-Packard and 3M licensed to use training materials Jim developed.
Jim received a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy.
